Twisters

Kate Cooper once tried to figure out a way to control tornadoes with her friends. That didn’t end well, so now she works safely indoors as a meteorologist in New York City. But when an old friend pops up wanting her back in the action, she gets tempted to give it another go. That’s when she crosses paths with Tyler Owens and his crew, who chase tornadoes to post their wild adventures on YouTube.

This film isn’t exactly a remake of the ’90s movie starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton—it’s more of a fresh spin using today’s advanced tech that wasn’t around back then. Warner Bros., Universal, and Amblin teamed up on this project to make use of those new tools.

At some point, thinking he’ll impress city-girl Kate, Tyler takes her to a rodeo. Turns out, it’s nothing new for Kate—being from a country background herself, she’s been there before. Director Lee Isaac Chung uses this moment to show he knows the old guard might find this familiar; it’s about pulling in younger viewers or risk losing them entirely.
In “Twisters,” things kick off with a crazy weather event that’s just the start of a wild ride. By the end, it’s obvious this movie isn’t just focused on the story—it’s pushing the boundaries of special effects.

There are even nods to *The Wizard of Oz*, a fun touch for classic movie fans. It’s a bit like growing up on fairy tales instead of iPad games—old-school magic woven into modern horror.

Don’t want to spoil anything too much, but try keeping track of all the tornadoes as they whip through the movie. Each one seems to outdo the last when it comes to destruction—it’s like going from salads to steaks on a menu, each one bigger and crazier than before.

The story jumps off with what feels like an ending but quickly dives into a rivalry where you kinda know what’s coming next. Back in the day, Michael Crichton was involved with this stuff, but nowadays his name is more for shout-outs than anything else. What really matters here? The nonstop action and the sheer craziness that just keeps building until it’s completely over the top!
