A Quiet Place: Day One

Samira’s this young poet dealing with cancer, staying at a clinic on the outskirts. One day, an opportunity comes up: an outing to New York City to see a puppet show. An enthusiastic nurse rounds up Samira, her cat Frodo, and some other patients for the trip on a bus. All Samira’s after is a slice of good pizza in the city. But suddenly, things go haywire when aliens invade!

Chaos erupts, and survival mode kicks in. The aliens are drawn to noise like magnets, so everyone quickly figures out that staying quiet is their only shot at making it through alive. Amidst all the madness and unexpected encounters, Samira meets Eric—a British law student studying in New York for schoolwork reasons—and they both join forces with others to find shelter.

In this movie—which is actually going back in time compared to where the previous stories left off—we dive into how all hell broke loose initially. It’s what you’d call a prequel and spin-off combination because we get into entirely new characters mixed into these familiar disastrous circumstances.

Directed by John Krasinski who played major roles in the earlier films of this series!
This time around, Michael Sarnoski takes the director’s chair and puts the spotlight on the alien invasion itself and what happens right after. This one’s all about cranking up the action, so expect tons of big, thrilling scenes. The downside, though, is that it has a bit less emotional depth than the first movie, which really struck a chord by focusing on character relationships and dynamics.
