Despicable Me 4

Okay, so here’s the lowdown: Gru is heading back to his old school for a reunion bash. It’s not just any school—it’s where all the baddies went to sharpen their skills. While he’s there, he runs into an old nemesis, Maxime Le Mal, who’s still salty about a prank from way back when. Things get spicy when Maxime is arrested by the Anti-Villain League but not before vowing revenge on Gru. So, Gru’s boss tells him to pack up his family and lay low somewhere safe.

Gru moves with his wife Lucy, their kids Margo, Edith, Agnes, and their new baby boy Gru Jr., all the way to Mayflower—a quiet little town. Of course, they bring along some of those goofy Minions—Phil, Ron, and Ralph. But hiding isn’t easy; they’re supposed to take on new names and identities. Things get even more complicated with nosy neighbors and their daughter Poppy trying to drag Gru into some shady shenanigans.

Over at the League HQs, five Minions are getting a superhero upgrade for some extra muscle against Maxime who’s cooking up some nasty plans involving cockroaches of all things.

Directed by Chris Renaud, this fourth film in the series brings a fresh bad guy into the mix—and we see rivals from past flicks pop up too! Also in play is the addition of a new kid in town: baby Gru Jr., fueling Gru’s will do anything for his newest family member dynamic going on here—all centered around that dad-son love vibe!
The Minions are still the stars of the show, bringing most of the laughs. Lucy also gets a few hilarious moments herself! The soundtrack mixes original pieces by Pharrell Williams with popular hits from the ’80s, ending with a cover of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears, which fits all those villains trying to take over everything.

Despicable Me 4 is full speed ahead, making sure fans get plenty of time with each character they love. Even if it doesn’t have that groundbreaking vibe of the first movie, it’s just as fun and keeps its feel-good spirit alive. Fans will have a blast.

In Italy, Gru’s voice is done by Max Giusti (Steve Carell in English), keeping it instantly recognizable. It’s a bit tricky to realize it’s Stefano Accorsi voicing Maxime because he gives him this unique touch. Meanwhile, Carolina Benvenga has taken over from Arisa as Lucy’s voice.
